Glimpses Of Andaman

Duration

4 Days

Overview

Andaman Islands, a collection of 300 islands along with Nicobar Islands, are some of the most beautiful places to be. There’s no shortage of gorgeous, pristine, white-sand beaches adorned with palm trees, stunning sunset views, and well-maintained coral reefs that are main contributors to a healthy marine ecosystem. For four days, we’ll take you to see this beautiful archipelago starting from Port Blair where we’ll visit the Cellular Jail. Now a historical museum, this place used to be a prison complex built by the British in the 1900s. Dioramas depict the crude treatments inmates experience and a Sound & Light Show illustrates Indians who fought for the freedom of the country. From Port Blair, we head to Samudrika Naval Maritime Museum which houses quite the collection of seashells, colorful fishes, and coral reefs. Then to the Anthropological Museum where they document the lifestyle of Negroid and Mongoloid tribes that reside among the islands, and artifacts from Palaeolithic islanders in the form of tools and more. After a half-day city tour, we’ll head out on an island cruise to check out the surrounding islands and enjoy a panoramic view of the seven harbors. Ross Island is the island where the former British headquarter is located, which now lay in ruins with the artifacts and tools that were left behind now displayed at the Smritika Museum which was erected later. Visitors can also enjoy a relaxing walk along the trails which are now inhabited by friendly deer. Aside from Ross Island, we’ll also stop at North Bay Coral Island, named after the coral formation that can be found underwater nearby. The shores offer snorkeling or a ride on a glass-bottom boat to enjoy the underwater view which is possible thanks to the clear water around here. For four days, enjoy your well-deserved break on islands that are away from busy, crowded, cities.
