Overview

Varanasi (Vārāṇasī), also known as Banaras or Benares and historically referred to as Kāshi, is a city situated on the banks of the Ganges River in northern India. It stands as one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world. Kashi, its ancient name, was linked with a kingdom bearing the same name over 2,500 years ago. The Lion Capital of Ashoka at nearby Sarnath has been interpreted as a tribute to the Buddha's inaugural sermon delivered there in the fifth century BCE. In the 8th century, Adi Shankara established the worship of Shiva as an official sect in Varanasi. Tulsidas composed his Ramcharitmanas, a Bhakti movement reinterpretation of the Sanskrit Ramayana, in Varanasi. Numerous other prominent figures of the Bhakti movement, such as Kabir and Ravidas, were also born in Varanasi. The city is renowned globally for its numerous ghats, which are sets of steps leading down to the riverbank where pilgrims engage in rituals. Some notable ghats include the Dashashwamedh Ghat, the Panchganga Ghat, the Manikarnika Ghat, and the Harishchandra Ghat. Varanasi is also home to the Hindu genealogy registers. Noteworthy temples in Varanasi include the Kashi Vishwanath Temple dedicated to Shiva, the Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple, and the Durga Temple.

Day 1 :

Arrival & Varanasi Darshan

Begin your day by visiting the Kashi Vishwanath Ji temple, one of the most sacred temples for Hindus and a prominent destination in Varanasi. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is believed to be one of the twelve Jyotirlingas. Visit the Annapurna Temple in the complex of Sri Kashi Vishwanath.
Visit Kaal Bhairav temple, dedicated to the fierce form of Lord Shiva, Lord Kaal Bhairav.
After that, head to Sankat Mochan Hanuman temple, which is dedicated to Lord Hanuman and is one of the holiest temples in Varanasi.
In the evening, make your way to the ghats of the Ganges River to witness the mesmerizing Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat, a spiritual and captivating ceremony.

Day 2 :

Varanasi Sightseeing

Visit to Sarnath, located around 10 kilometers from Varanasi. This is the place where Buddha delivered his first sermon after enlightenment.
Explore the Dhamek Stupa, which marks the spot where Buddha gave his first sermon. It’s an important pilgrimage site for Buddhists.
Visit the Chaukhandi Stupa, another significant historical site in Sarnath.

Day 3 :

Drive to Prayagraj Darshan

After breakfast, checkout & drive to Prayagraj.

Once at Prayagraj, visit the Triveni Sangam, the confluence of three rivers: the Ganges, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati. It’s a sacred site for Hindus, and taking a boat ride to the Sangam can be a memorable experience.
Akshaya Vat: Located near the Triveni Sangam, this ancient banyan tree is said to be eternal and immensely significant in Hindu mythology. It’s believed that Lord Rama visited this tree during his exile.
Khusro Bagh: Visit this Mughal garden that contains the tombs of Prince Khusro, Shah Begum, and Nithar Begum. The intricate designs and architecture are worth admiring.
Visit Bade Hanuman Temple (lete hue Hanuman Ji).

Day 4 :

Drive to Ayodhya & Darshan

After breakfast, checkout & drive to Ayodhya.

Visit Shri Ram Janmabhoomi, a grand temple dedicated to Lord Rama. It is one of the main attractions in Ayodhya and holds immense religious significance.
The next place to visit is Hanuman Garhi, a significant temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman. It is situated atop a hill and offers a panoramic view of the city.
Next, proceed to Dashrath Mahal, also known as the Ramkot, which is believed to be the birthplace of Lord Rama.
After that, head to Kanak Bhawan, a beautiful temple dedicated to Lord Rama and his consort Sita.
In the evening, proceed to Saryu Ghat for attending evening arati & soak yourself in the spiritual ambience at Ram ki Paidi. Visit Nageshwarnath Temple.
